Katie, Katie, Katie

Katie has grown so much since I last posted. She is saying so many simple sentences and starting to become very clear with her simple words. She LOVES pizza and loves to play. She has started to turn on her CD player in her room and dance. She loves music and her favorite movie is "The Sound of Music". Here are some cute shots of her that are recent. Katie loves to paint. Nana found some great pre-painting coloring books that she loves and I do too because they are mess-free. :)

I was really sick last week so Daddy did dinners with the girls. Aparently Katie had chocolate ice cream for dessert. Ohhhh, messy...

katie LOVES shoes, anybody shoes! She stole these tap shoes from Lilly for 3 days.

A few months ago Katie got her first haircut in November 08. She was not too happy but it came out cute. Her hair is now starting to flow over her shoulders.

Krazy Katie!

Katie is now one and she is driving everyone crazy! We thought climbing on the stairs was bad. She now knows how to pull out the kitchen chair just enough to hike a leg up on it and before you know it everything on top of the kitchen table is being thrown off because she is on top of the TABLE!! UGH!!! Gates and knob locks are beneath her!

So to make matters worse her gold fish died. So I got her another one that is now living in our living room so that I can keep an eye on it. Can anyone guess how the last one died???

Nonetheless the new fish is now in a bigger, heavier bowl that she can put her hand in.

Moving on .... Katie is still a great baby to take out on the town. Every Friday mommy helps out as the Room Mom for Sabrina's class. She was thrilled to find that Sabrina's chairs are easy to climb up on. She had a great time coloring all over big sisters class work while the kids were at gym class.

Then she figured out that there was stuff in the desk! Poor Sabrina.

The other day I took the girls over to our local park where they have a nice kids water fountain area. Here are some pictures of Katie's first time playing in the fountains.

They all had so much fun that we invited some friends to come with us and we went back on Labor Day.

When we were all done with the water fountain we decided to go to a restaurant in the park! It was really good and Katie learned how to drink from a straw!!!

You'll notice Katie is on the table - where else would you expect her to be? ...

SHE'S ONE!!!

Wow, I haven't been on here in a WHILE ... Katie had a great round of holidays, she has been really healthy and the only gripe that our doctor has is that she's a little under weight due to how tall she is! She's a TALL, TALL girl with a big lollipop head! She's off the charts when compared to her peers in height and head size but she's squeaking in at a mere 7% (on a scale of 1% - 100%) of where she needs to be for her weight.

She is enjoying a high fat and carb diet and seems to be happy with it, but hey wouldn't you???

Her sisters are just about ready to start school on Monday and I do hope to be able to update this blog much, much more often!

How big she grows!

Thank goodness I held onto the snow suit ... we are getting some great use out of it!

She has found have a true blue friend. Katie has a stuffed monkey that is slowly but surely going everywhere with us. We have named him "bananas" for her. Lilly especially likes the monkey named bananas. Lilly asks me "do you have bananas?" all the time. When I answer her "no, I haven't gone to the store yet." I realize that my little 5 year old is playing with me ...

Katie and mommy have had a big month this January. We are now fully bottle fed! It is going so much better than expected. We figured how fast the bottle needs to flow and all problems that we had before seem to be solved. We also haven't had any tummy trouble thank goodness!!!

We went in for our 6 month check up 2 weeks ago and and she's almost 15 lbs and 28 inches long! The doctor said that she's tall and skinny, what a way to be huh??!!??

Katie still doesn't have any teeth but she is mashing things like crazy. I have given her some Gerber banana puffs and she seems to like it. Next is pastina, we'll see about that one.

Katie and I aren't shy about the harsh weather, we still get out on most days for our morning runs. I took the hefty blanket off in this picture to get a good shot of her, usually you can't see anything b/c she so covered up. Hey, what can I say - I've go southern girls!! Gotta keep those tender spirits warm ...

Sabrina loves to hold her little sister after school. Both the girls play with her and sing her songs. She LOVES her big sisters!!!

Look Ma, we match! Unfortunately we couldn't find these in Lilly's size too, but we're still looking for matching Lilly & Katie PJ's.

She Eats and Plays until she's ASLEEP!?!

Katie loves to TRY to feed herself but isn't very successful at it! She has been drooling like crazy and very "chewy" as well. A few weeks ago I thought those teeth were ready to show themselves, but they have stalled and there has not been any sign of teeth, except for the excessive drool!

Katie is a "pro" at rolling over onto her tummy, but hasn't figured out how to flip back onto her back yet. She depends on Sabrina to flip her. :)




Katie loves her entertainment center sooo much. Sometimes it's the only thing that will please her at the 6:00pm fussy time of the evening. I love it so that I can feed everyone else since cooking while holding a 5 month old isn't the safest. She has figured out depth and is now grabbing everything that we have in our hands. Of course everything is going into her mouth, so Barbie, Polly Pockets, Legos, boardgames; watch out! You're all about to be cleaned up and stored somewhere safe.

Katie actually slept like this for 45 minutes!!

We were super cute for our first halloween. The girls were witches and Kate was a kitty cat!

Good Morning Katie!

Katie loves her bunny blanket. Brett and I have been opening the windows at night because it has been so nice and cool, but Katie likes to stay warm...um, hot!

She loves being bundled all the time. She's definitely a southern peach!

We have hit some milestones lately, as we approach four months. Katie has discovered that she has two hands that can touch each other. She plays with her hands all the time!

We're teething!

Every chance Katie gets she chews on her index and middle fingers all the time! Brett checked her gums last night and it seems that the tooth bud on the top right has a tooth that is almost ready to cause some major drama in our household. So far we're still a very happy baby.
